Rap

Rap music dates way back to the records of slave spirituals, jazz, gospel, jazz and blues, etc. This music has evolved with the storytelling of one’s life fused in with rhythm and beat.  Most fans of music associate rap with African Americans that are from the projects, or ghettos. Since a good amount of performers or artists came from a background like this, it has promoted the idea that their background should have a good intake within their lyrics. African Americans during slavery would tell stories in a rhythmic manner to have something to cling on to.  With that being said, where did the American culture come in?
